Doomed to—or
blessed with—eternal life after drinking from a magic spring, the Tuck
family wanders about trying to live as inconspicuously and comfortably
as they can. When ten-year-old Winnie Foster stumbles on their secret,
the Tucks take her home and explain why living forever at one age is
less a blessing that it might seem. Complications arise when Winnie is
followed by a stranger who wants to market the spring water for a
fortune.The Tuck
family is confronted with an agonizing situation when they discover that
a ten-year-old girl and a malicious stranger now share their secret
about a spring whose water prevents one from ever growing older.
MIST
All students in fourth grade will begin taking the MIST Writing Assessment this week. The schedule of each homeroom is listed below. The students will take the assessment with me at the computer lab in Ball Hall. Here is what I know:
- The students will be asked to read two passages. These passages will be non-fiction, and I have a feeling they may be related to science. (This last statement is not a fact!)
- They will have to either write an opinion/argumentative piece, or they will be asked to write an explanatory piece that compares and contrasts the two pieces of work.
- Students must use evidence from the passages within their writing.
- Indenting each paragraph is a must. On the MIST portal, the tab button does not work for indenting. They have to hit the space bar.
- The portal has spell check, however it will not tell them how to correctly spell the word. It will only identify the words that are spelled incorrectly.
