Our class is currently engaged in a Reading Plus Challenge! We will be competing with other schools in the SCS District to see which class can reach the most SeeReaders with 80% or above. The contest started last Monday and will continue until April 1st. The students have decided to name this challenge The 1000 Plus Challenge. Their goal is to reach 56 SeeReaders at 80% and above by the end of the contest date. We have created a chart in the classroom, and the students have personal SeeReader logs to track their own progress. The parents do not need to do anything except encourage the students to get on Reading Plus as often as possible. If our class wins in the district contest, the class will receive a $100 gift card. In addition, I will also reward the students with a movie and popcorn afternoon if they reach our class goal. Their will also be a separate Spring Break challenge and reward , but I will send that info out closer to the break. The kids are pumped, and I hope this continues to motivate them to succeed!
